Life is Not a Green Screen

Life is Not a Green Screen

Life is not a Greenscreen that you hide the reality with it and Chroma Key out the things that look ugly and superimpose brighter things over it. Life is Real. It's harsh. It gives you a Yorker when you expect a Slower. It gives you a Teesra when you expect an Off-break. Life is cruel and full of surprises. What stands out is your perseverance, never to die attitude, and the Rise of The Phoenix mentality. Everyone is cursing this year, however, I feel this year has shown us our reality, first of all, it brought out the hidden masks that we anyways had been wearing so far, but now everyone can see them, it showed us the difference between the need and the want. It showed us the reality of what various organizations had been shunning so far, that in India, Work From Home can never be achieved. Come on! Was it ever in your plan if the pandemic never occurred? Let's be real again. 99% of the organization in the world, would have never brought it into their org culture. Let's accept it. Businesses struggled and the business plans went out of the windows. But that's again the harsh reality. What seemed 100% perfect business model 9 months back, had hit the dust and gasping for breath. Smaller entrepreneurs, without solid Business models or innovation or newness in idea, had to shut their shop and rethink. Yes, that's the need of the hour - ReThink and ReAdjust. Nothing is permanent except your Values and Ethics. Nothing is more Truer than your Self Belief and Hard Work. As the old saying goes, if you are made to believe that you are worthless, everything that you had done so far is wrong, not added any value. Then take a step back and look around before doubting yourself - Are you surrounded by people who want you to fail, who want to ridicule you, or they are fools themselves or their plans are wrong, they are not having the correct POV. Understand the reality and then change if required. Anyways, we should always be open to changes. As it is so cliche to say, Change is the only constant in life. Do we really believe it?

As we wait with bated breath and welcome the New Year, we must accept that our life is not going to be all right so soon. There will be turmoil, severe ups, and downs in the market, but we have to wait for the right opportunity, balance it with our experience, foresight, and hard work, and never ever move out from our focus.

Last but not the least, I will urge everyone, to take care of their family and loved ones first. Particularly senior citizens and ailing parents and relatives. Work From Home is going to stay and hence, our own worlds are shattered, we were not prepared for it, not everyone has the benefit of multi-room homes and their own space. Work definitely going to enter your personal lives. No matter how much we try, we can never disregard the fact, and hence, there will be very little opportunity to balance work and life. Work time will start eating your personal time, the time that you always had for your wife, parents, or kids. Unfortunately, Indian organizations tend to squeeze out work as much from their employees. As they think, they are already in their homes, they need not travel, why shouldn't they bring out more work from them. With the benefits of Work From Home, come a bigger responsibility for us, the Organizations, of the wellbeing of their team. Nurture them more, psychologically, physically, and motivating them with the assurance, that you are there for them.

Personally, this year actually gave me a lot of opportunities, newness and self-belief as well it took a lot from me. Many things didn't work out, many things failed miserably but every time there were new possibilities. This year ironically took me in front of the Green Screen, yes, I became a Fullfeldged YouTuber. And, again ironically it worked for me, since people were at home, they started subscribing to my channel more to learn new stuff, yes that is what my channel "Learn with Tridib" does. Businesswise, we at Blink-Interact did pretty good stuff - delivered what we are proud of, a consistent solution to our international clients that helped them stay afloat in the challenging time and also crafted one of the new-age 100% ADA compliant web solution for another global client of us. Few things on the personal front that this 2020 gave me is that my first authored novel S.O.U.L Stories Of Ur Life won the Best debut Novel of 2019, it became one of the #1 Bestsellers on Amazon.in, Land into an awesome collaboration with Unacademy where I am creating Paid content for their Learning App Graphy along with a number of stalwarts in their respective fields and last but not the least sold a lot of paintings even during the tough time. In not so good news part, I am severely suffering from Tenosinuvitis on both my hands which has practically made them immobile. But, the fight is still on.

Before ending, I would urge all, the time has come to be compassionate and to show empathy to others. What could have been done or achieved in a normal situation, might be a struggling affair in the current state. Understand everyone's situation and act accordingly. After all, love and care are ingrained in ourselves. We have to bring that quality out for a better world.

Love you all! Stay Blessed and Stay Safe. Have a wonderful 2021.

Very well written Tridib ?? .. you have actually hit the chord with this insightful post of yours. In India, work life balance had never been what it should be, and WFH is making things a little more complicated. Nevertheless, as you have mentioned, we need to understand the priorities of life, never forget that family comes first, and strike an equilibrium accordingly. That's the key to success, as you have pointed out aptly.

For me personally and the business I handle, it has been perseverance and patience all the way. We accepted each reality - be it WFH, dealing with clients and their anxieties / problems as and when we encountered them. Things are in much better shape today but this year has left a whole bunch of lessons and for the good I would say. Thanks for sharing your experiences and perspective, Tridib. Best wishes for the new year.
