It's very intimidating to think that life waits for no one. No one at all.
It puts us all in a frenzy to run after our goals, plans and projects, sort of like a 100 meter dash. It's madness, really. This fretting, choleric behavior to always be about doing this, that or the other, to appear occupied, to feel valuable or even to calm our own nerves tends to be overwhelmingly negative in the long-run.
This however, does not give anyone the excuse to not apply themselves in the field they find themselves in. Bowing out too soon for fear of burnout is not it.
Yes, no one will wait for you. Time and seasons will not wait, and neither will life wait for you. Good thing is that, all these things are cyclical. Another time will come, so will another season and opportunity.

Chin up, think clearly what you want to make for yourself in whatever season you are in. Take full advantage of the opportunities available for you in that period and do your best.
As time moves on, as long as you are applying yourself in your vocation, you will find opportunities opening up for your growth and advancement. You will enjoy organic progress that comes with calmness in action and love for what you are doing.
In the next season, you may find yourself moving to a totally different occupation, or switching gears in whatever you are doing. In this, learn to let go and say goodbye so you can fully be present in the new position. No need to be like a hamster, always running, never arriving.
Enjoy your life, remembering that no matter what you do, it will not wait for you. Mercifully, opportunities will always arise for you to get aboard and thrive.
