You may not want to hear this, but life after 35 comes with a few surprises - and most of them aren’t exactly welcome. Things just get harder, not because you’re doing something wrong, but because life has a funny way of catching up with you.
So, if you’re sitting there comparing yourself to the under-35 crowd who seem to have it all together, let’s get real for a second.
I've been reading stories on social media of how:
?And the sad reality is - they might not even be exaggerating!
Some of it may actually be true.
Because think back to your 20s. Life just happened, didn’t it?
You could eat and drink whatever, stay out late, and bounce back like nothing.
Your body and mind were invincible.
You didn’t even need to think about your mindset, self-development, etc.
University, friends, jobs, opportunities, everything seem to just be in flow and happened.
Sadly all that changes after age 35.
It's almost as if the universe stops wanting you to win in your late 30s-40s.
But what's really going on is and what many conveniently forget about is: Biology.
After 35, your brain starts slowing down. Your metabolism and immune system takes a nosedive, hormones shift, and suddenly you’re battling:
It's harder to make new friends, new opportunities don't show up anymore,.
You're no longer the cool kid on the block, you have more responsibilities instead.
You start questioning your life, and your life choices.
And here is where it gets even tougher for many.

If you’ve been living life on autopilot all these years, you’ve probably picked up some pretty bad habits along the way.
Poor habits that are now making life feel harder. You’re not imagining it.
You’re actually fighting against years of programming.
All those times you hit snooze, skipped exercising, treated your body badly, alcohol, drugs, poor lifestyle, lack of sleep and never wanted to hear the word discipline. Yes, those habits stick around and now, they’re harder to break.
Losing weight, changing your mindset, even managing your health, wellbeing, and relationships - it’s all a bigger uphill battle.
But here’s the good news: this is where real growth happens.
You’ve lived and experienced life one way for decades.
You made mistakes, lacked self-awareness, had zero self-discipline and were blissfully unaware.
And now in your late 30s-40s, it’s time to rethink how you want to live going forward.
Once you get intentional, once you have the right guidance, you’ll realise this new chapter of life isn’t so bad - it’s your wake-up call.
And one that pushes you to grow, to break free from the patterns that have held you back, and to step into something better.
It’s not just about wanting to change - it’s about knowing how to change.
It’s not just about willpower and you’re at a point where you need more than just motivation - you need structure, guidance, and the right tools to help you unlearn what’s been and will hold you back.
And this is why a coach and/or mentor is so crucial at this stage.
Now, it's about showing up for yourself, with the intention to grow, change, and thrive.
Now, it’s about rewiring your brain and overcoming biology.
And it is exciting - WHEN you play your cards right!
Are you up for it?
