When we look back, being older, ... I mean wiser, we should have many memories but not too many dreams anymore.
Why?
If we still have many dreams at that point, it might mean that we did not try to realize them when we were younger. And, we might not have the discipline, the consistency, and mainly, the energy anymore to still try to realize them later in life.
All of this in my view has a lot to do with the fear of failure. This majorly blocks people on the path forward towards the things they really want to do.
There is a beautiful poem, by an unknown author that goes a bit like this.
“It’s impossible, said pride. It’s risky, said experience. It’s pointless, said reason.
Give it a try, whispered the heart!”
So, go out there, and live your life to the maximum of your capacities. Don't back down!
Happy reflecting,
Marc Van Obberghen
