Life is NOT Easy, but Life is WORTH It

“I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. Nothing in life is easy. But that’s no reason to give up. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish if you set your mind to it. After all, you only have one life, so you should try to make the most of it.” — Louis Sachar

Good morning beautiful people, how are we, thee, and us? We have a new house guest, JoQueen, our daughter’s cat is staying with us whilst she is with her man in South Carolina. They will be home soon, but we are watching the little lady, and PVHT has a new friend for now. Her name was Joleen, but then she decided she, like my wife, was a Queen, thus the name change.

We met my friend Jason for lunch, Jo, my fantastic assistant, joined us, as did my wife. Jason and I chatted bitcoin while the ladies made plans for Jo’s trip west. We talked about our fathers and how we don’t want to be working our current gigs at 72 years old; Jason is a good egg. He and his wife are going to Greece for two weeks; we will model their movements on a future trip.  We left there, picked up some staples from Costco, then headed to pick up our guest.

We got home; both had some work to do but then ended up outside sitting in our courtyard. It is beautiful in Indiana. Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. From now on, the days get shorter, next up the equinox. You know how I like equality.

I’ve got my men’s group this morning; it would be in person, but a couple of the members were a bit scared of meeting in person, so we went virtual. I was thankful; I’m 1200 miles away from my crew; this move allows me to join in and get my monthly thanksgiving dinner for my mind. I’m joyful about this change of events.

I am meeting my new friend Victor today. He’s Ukrainian, has a thick accent, and I struggle with a foreign tongue. I’m special needs when it comes to a language other than English. But Victor is a good man, and I look forward to finally meeting him in person. He and his partner Eugene developed a program to find used cars and give them to people in need. Today my Ford Escape will be donated, and someone who needs transportation will use my old girl. I don’t need her anymore; with my new life of driving back and forth, we have two cars here; we don’t need a third.

It’s day two of Spirit Animal coffee; my goodness, what a life-changing liquid to put in one’s gullet. If you like coffee, check out https://spiritanimalcoffee.com/ and leave a good review. My new friend Felix from Mexico is a rep, another good fellow I seem to find strangers and make them friends.

I’ve got my meeting this morning and then will head out for some in-person meetings. I’ll meet Victor and maybe Sam if she can make it. Sam has nine kids, so it might be hard for her to make our soiree, but she has a golden ticket to attend. I’ll leave there and meet my wife and friend Paul and his new lady for dinner. Italian is the selection tonight, buon cibo.

My youngest daughter called me, she loves her job, and that makes me happy. I’m drinking from a large white coffee cup she gave me as a gift. Written on the side are three letters DAD; it’s who I am, and when I talk to my kids, I’m reminded that I was a good DAD; they all turned out to be rock stars in their respective musical institutions.

Two of my friends got a hole in one’s yesterday; I’ve never had one and truthfully never will. I don’t play enough golf anymore, but cheers to the two men that will never forget the date 5/20/2021, a great day to be a golfer. I wonder how many holes in one’s there are on the average golf day. If I know about 2, I’m guessing there are probably 250 or so. I just GOOGLED the odds; the odds of an average golfer hitting a hole in one is 12500 to 1. That’s a bunch of bull; I’ve played thousands of rounds, took many thousands of shots, and never got one. I’ve been close, I’ve had the ball an inch from the cup, but something bigger than myself does not want nor need me to have that memory.

PVHT is trying her best to convince JoQueen she is her friend, but JoQueen is content with taking her right paw and striking my pup in the face. She’s get’s in 3 smacks before a horrifying hiss. PVHT is making weird sounds as if to say, “what is wrong with me? Why can’t we just be friends?” She has a Chewbacca sound to her this morning; I swear this dog can talk.

Enough about me, how are you? I’m serious, how are you? Are you living your best life, or do you have an area you could improve? I need some improvement, but I’m working on that; well, I’m contemplating improving. But life is a journey, and never forget life ebbs and flows, and we must always enjoy both.

My wife has a new cookbook each night; she tries a new recipe. Last night it was magic chicken with panko-covered cauliflower. Jessica Merchant writes it, it’s called everyday dinners and I strongly recommend if you like to cook to buy this book. If you are looking for a good gift for a chef, buy this book. I don’t know Jessica, but this is the second cookbook my wife has bought, and I’d like to send her flowers. Well done, Mrs. Merchant, well done.

I ran a group meeting yesterday, everyone was in CO, but I was in IN. We had 20 show up; we had a program to tell your story and become a thought leader. It was terrific, and I can’t wait to get home and plan some in-person events. We have a solid group of thought leaders; find a group or groups that can make you a better human being. My positive intelligence development has been improved through connecting with strangers from all over the world.

I’m starting a new book called Positive intelligence; a friend recommended it in CO, I hear it will change my life, but I’m just in chapter one; we will see. My next one is done; it’s in the cue, and I wonder when I’ll release it. Now it’s just a wait and sees; I have other books ready to go, but for some reason, “The Rule of 8%” is not wanting to see the light of day. I’ll Sherlock Holmes this mystery and let you know when she is ready to see the light of day.
