Life at Carson – Summer in Financial Services

We’re officially halfway through 2023. Each time we send this newsletter, it seems like we say, “the year is flying by,” but it truly is!?

We kicked off the summer season by welcoming new stakeholders to Carson HQ for our 10-week Internship program and two-year Partnership Development program. These two robust NextGen initiatives expose students and recent graduates to the financial services industry where they’ll have the chance to work with our Advanced Solutions, Transitions, and Advisor teams. We had over 90 applicants from 38 different colleges and universities, creating a highly competitive and national pool of candidates.??

Community Partnerships

Connection and community are within our core. This past quarter, we were recognized by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for Corporate Leadership . This came to fruition through partnerships with their Inclusive Business Communities Cohort and the Big Red Investment Club. Ron Carson founded our firm while in his UNL Abel Hall dorm room, making this a full circle moment!?

Beyond our UNL partnership, we’re proud to work with organizations across the Omaha Metro area like Rock the Street, Wall Street at Burke High School, Partnership 4 Kids at various middle and high schools, and ICAN , focusing on women’s leadership. Each of these causes was chosen by our stakeholders, who are empowered to bring forward their ideas to our Corporate Giving Committee, focused on donating both volunteer hours and more than $250,000 each year back to our community.??

A Few Perks to Life at Carson

Each quarter, we encourage our teams to get together outside of the office (it’s even something we budget for!). Last year, the Marketing and Compliance departments created an annual competition. They battled it out a few weeks ago at Blue Sky Pickleball. I’m not sure who had the higher score, but they all won by getting to enjoy the warm weather and camaraderie.?
