As a cannabis professional, and even as a cannabis consumer, it's easy to forget that you are not the subject; the role cannabis plays in life, your life, is.
Your daily efforts and actions are a glimpse into possibilities attainable through cannabis, however different that may look from one person to another.
Be the vehicle not the destination.
There is an inherent responsibility to your life with cannabis.
You are the vehicle.
You are the window.
People in your life see you as an example of what is and what could be.
For years, people saw cannabis consumers as couch-ridden slackers; people whose main aspiration was simply to get high.
Destination:
Cannabis’ role in life is to get people high.
Vehicle:
Cannabis broadens life’s possibilities.
For some that means being able to get out of bed in the morning or overcome chronic nausea. For others that means unwinding in a responsible way after work or in front of their favorite Netflix show. And for others still, cannabis consumption has opened up new opportunities for professional and personal gain.
If you’re a professional in the industry, your vehicle is that much more apparent: you’re showcasing what normalized cannabis looks like.
Working in weed no longer means dirty black market buys and cartel cash grabs; it means licensed products and regulated processes that can bring a host of change to society.
As a player in this game, you’re the vehicle for change every time you break down a barrier and exemplify that cannabis can play a role personally and professionally in life without detriment.
Be the vehicle that helps make the world more comfortable with cannabis.
Be the vehicle of change that overcomes antiquated stereotypes and stigmas.
Be the vehicle that showcases how life with cannabis can be better than life without.
The more accessible this vehicle becomes, the more people buy the ticket and take the ride.
Until next week,
Ben “Be the Vehicle” Owens
