Life at Bamber Education

Hello everyone,

Nick here. I'm excited to share the inaugural edition of our Bamber Education newsletter, providing a window into our operations, personal development efforts, and a dash of personal experiences.

Bamber Education

The academic year has been a landmark one for us. Our small, tight-knit team of two has blossomed into a vibrant collective of eleven, each bringing their unique skills and perspectives to our mission. A noteworthy addition to our team has been Mike Stuart . Coming onboard as a Director, his vast experience and motivational abilities have significantly amplified our training efforts and team morale.

The summer break is knocking on the doors of schools next week, marking a well-deserved pause for teachers and our team. It's an ideal time to take stock, relax, and rejuvenate before the new term begins. In some welcome news for teachers, a 6.5% pay rise is set to come into effect this September. It's a fitting acknowledgement of their relentless efforts.

Our annual performance has surpassed expectations. An incentive we introduced in January to encourage holiday planning has met great success. We've not only achieved the target but also exceeded it, hitting 128%. To celebrate this achievement, the entire team is gearing up for a luxurious weekend getaway at a 5-star hotel in Vilamoura.

Our expansion journey continues. We're on the lookout for six new recruitment consultants to join us over the summer. We've filled half the positions already and are eager to find three more dynamic individuals to complete the team.

I can't end this section without giving a massive shout-out to Dominic Key His achievements in May and June, his best-ever months in a recruitment career spanning twelve years, have been nothing short of inspiring. Dom has managed this whilst dealing with a house move to Devon, navigating numerous complications, and welcoming a new puppy to his household. His ability to thrive amidst change is a testament to his resilience.

Self-Improvement

On the personal development front, I've been engrossed in a thought-provoking book titled 'Ikigai – The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life'. The profound insights it offers into leading a fulfilled, purposeful life are worth exploring. I've shared a few reflections in a LinkedIn post, which you might find interesting. If you've come across any compelling self-improvement books recently, I'd be eager to hear your recommendations.

Lou and I are gearing up to participate in a challenging 25k trail run on 5th August. Lou is channelling this endeavour into a great cause, raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. You can contribute and show your support here.

Keeping up with the theme of fitness, I've been hosting RunSocial every Wednesday. It's a social initiative designed to bring together running enthusiasts for a scenic 5k run around Bristol Harbour. Find us on social media at https://www.dhirubhai.net/company/run-social/. It's a fun way to stay fit and make new friends.

For my personal fitness routine this summer, I've turned to more focused gym work. I've been dedicating six days a week to enhancing my skipping and pull-up skills. However, my focus for the next 3 weeks will be back to running!

Personal

On the personal front, life has been eventful. I recently attended Glastonbury festival and had an absolutely amazing time. The festival was the perfect antidote to the work-heavy months leading up to it. Great music, perfect weather, and a fun crowd.

Just last weekend, Lou and I had the privilege of attending a wedding in the South of France. The serene setting of a quaint chateau was the perfect place for some downtime. I managed to catch up on sleep, absorb myself in some good reading, and soak up the summer sun.

Well, that brings us to the end of this update. Here's to a fantastic summer and looking forward to more shared moments and stories in the coming months.

Thanks,

Nick Bamber
