When we decide to ignore the higher-level purpose of life, we see everything meaningless; that feeling increases anxiety and depression. Regardless of how successful we are with our personal objectives, we may not feel secured without addressing the high-level objective; the purpose of our existence. It is not always wrong to say ‘let us enjoy the journey and forget about the destination’. If you find yourself in a train, you should not enjoy the beautiful scenes before first ask as to why am I here? Where is the destination? We should first ask ‘what is the purpose of life?’ What is the value of life if we do not know the purpose of that life?

God is testing us in our short life on earth; the wealthy father has the right to test his children before distributing the wealth. Testing missions are not supposed to be easy and comfortable. The test questions are not supposed to be known in advance because everyone has a different question paper. Our life on earth is a very short period compared to the universe time scale; It could be our temporary testing period.

Although God knows what’s in our hearts and what each of us might do, he tests us and wants us to witness our own test results in order to admit that we have been fairly rewarded according to our achievements as recorded in the test results. Before the wealthy father distributes his wealth, he may want to record which son is obedient, the records are not for the father who knows, but as a testimony for people who might question the justice of their father and although the wise teacher knows the hard-working student and the lazy student, he prepares regular exams as testimonies so that the students would not say that the teacher had favoured some students over the others. Exams also urge students to get prepared in order to succeed

We have not created the gifts of sight, intelligence, conscience, and many other gifts. Those who can see the miracles in everything around them and in their own creation then deny the existence of God, those must be mistaken. Only you can give a meaning to your life. Don’t expect anyone else to come and give you a meaningful life.

A meaningful life does not mean endless quest for money, fame and power. Yet, it does not. Earning money is very important, but running towards more and more money endlessly is pure absurdity.

A meaningful life means having a self-satisfying goal to achieve. In simple words: Having a to be list and to do list rather than a to earn list and to receive list. This helps in giving yourself a sense of personal accomplishment, an essence of happiness (not the materialistic ego-satisfaction thingy), and a motive of giving back to the society by helping others uplift on a regular basis, which in turn gives your life a meaning.

Life is like a blank page. It’s meaningless until you don’t give some meaning to it. Humans are not ‘slaves of the blind will to live’ contradictory to what you mentioned in your description, rather they have been given this gift of life to manifest whatever they want.

Your future cannot be better unless you make your today better, and which, by no means, can improve by such negative approach towards life. Furthermore, now that you realised that ‘all the pleasures in the world are void illusions’, it is the best time for you to take up a spiritual path. By spiritual path, I don’t mean you leave the society, go to Himalayas and meditate 24 hours a day. Live your life spiritually even leading a normal life and keep the mind and soul happy and peaceful.
