Life After Law School
Whether you become a lawyer or not, going through law school will change how you think about, look at, and interact with the world for the rest of your life.
I would be considered a first generation lawyer, which means I am not from a family that includes lawyers, nor did I know any lawyers before law school. When I decided to go to law school, I had no idea if I would like it, hate it, or even be any good at it, but something told me that law school was my next step in life. What I found amidst all the hard work and stress, was that I love the law, and I love solving multifaceted complex problems. Every move we make has a chain effect and somewhere in the chain, is the legal component.
If working with the law were easy, anyone could do it, but the simple fact is, the law adds a level of complexity to any given situation, and not everyone can work through that. There is something very gratifying in showing others how to achieve a result that they would otherwise not be able to; whether it’s resolving a dispute, or moving forward on an idea in a new area, the law is everywhere.
I have always been a results oriented person, seeking the best way to successfully conclude an undertaking. I have also always been one to push my own personal limitations, pursuing my next personal best, and to be better than I was yesterday. Law school has given me the means to enable others to make today better than yesterday.
