My wife recently posted something on her social media about four people who have influenced and impacted all of our lives today.
This post referenced JK Rowling, Jeff Bezos , Walt Disney and Barrack Obama. At some point in their lives, they struggled.
However, this struggle was not going to last forever. Most people will recognise any of those four names and can identify their impact on the world.
Of course the list of names could also include many other's but the point that I wanted to make today is that despite the challenges my wife and I have faced in the past, does not have to determine our future.
I guess I have always been a bit of a bloomer and it has taken me 30 odd years to find the confidence and courage to identify with who I am.
The depression that both I and my wife have experienced, did change us. After such experience you can never be the same again, which is not to say though that you cannot be even better once you come through. On the contrary, I think the overcoming of such challenges do make you as a person.
When you hit rock bottom, you see and appreciate opportunities that you would have never considered previously.
My wife would not be helping families who are in the situation that we were in just a few months back and I would never have found a passion for filmmaking, the design and build of things I never believed I could have an interest for.
The point is...after years of struggling we are at a point in our lives where both Carolina and I want to share our journey and continue of impacting lives, not only in our local community but also beyond.
In the past I have suffered in silence and know all to well what it feels like when people judge you and I have learned that many others not only me are still suffering in silence too. From my experience Men don't talk about their issues but I would love to be able to break that cycle!
