LIFE AFTER CRL

I started my journey properly in Reliability on the 12th of December 2013 when I sat for the CMRP certification in my home country Nigeria. It was my first realistic taste on the subject of reliability despite being in the Maintenance Profession for 8 years at the time working in various industries ranging from Manufacturing to Renewable energy and finally in the Oil and Gas sector. With that taste I hungered for more knowledge and somehow fate would cause my paths to cross with that of Terrence O’Hanlon via LinkedIn. He encouraged me to become a CRL, 8 months down the line I got that opportunity at the ARMs reliability conference in Austin Texas. The impact of that leadership training, the learning from both the SMRP & ARMs reliability conference completely overturned my thinking on the subject of Reliability and Asset Management.

After my CRL there has been no turning back. My dream is to influence Maintenance and Reliability professionals on the African Continent to practice at the best levels thus strengthening industries which in turn affect the daily lives on the common man in the street through products and services which the organizations provide to the general public. For me Reliability is a tool for driving personal, organizational, community, National and Transnational growth, and the key to this growth lies in the hands of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals like me. This vision led to the founding of THE MAINTENANCE INSTITUTE AFRICA, which has served as a tool for propagating this message. I am glad to say in our 16 Months of existence we have had webinars, breakfast meetings, trainings, bulletins bearing our message. We have reached over 5000 professionals through various channels and most recently we broke ground by hosting the 1st Africa Maintenance and Reliability Conference in Nigeria.

We are already changing the face of the Continent and I dare say we are succeeding at our goal. All we do is simply lead the way and provide the platforms for M & R professionals to CONNECT, SHARE knowledge and hatch out opportunities for GROWTH and it all started with having a go at the CRL certification.
