Who are you and what is your job at the club?
Hi, I’m Eline and I’m partially responsible for recruitment at 45 Degrees. I will spend 50% of my efforts in recruiting 5 profiles for the club. Currently I’m focusing on LinkedIn, but I’ll be trying to think outside the box as well, because I think that’s necessary to attract employees in today's market. I started a few weeks ago and I’m trying to get to know everyone at the moment. This will help in learning more about life and work at 45 Degrees to improve my judgment on potential candidates.

How did you find out about 45 Degrees?
I was working as a consultant at First Floor Careers when Nathalie (Claeys, red.), a good friend of mine, asked whether I was interested in joining Bluu. This made the transition a lot easier, since I don’t have a technical background. I studied applied psychology and have a masters degree in business administration, but I’m really interested in learning more about this field of expertise.?
What is your take on the current job market?
It’s definitely hard to find the right people in IT at the moment. There are more job openings than job hunters and companies are doing everything to keep their employees happy. So it’s your job as a recruiter to persuade these talents. This requires a certain level of creativity. I’m going to reach out to the Bluu ecosystem to find the perfect match for instance. It will be a challenge, but that’s exactly what I’m looking forward to.
What do companies need to do to make them more eligible?
Well I think that what we’re doing here for instance is a good start. This cooperation with RMDY to create relevant content and to invest in qualitative marketing, visibility and campaigns is a great way to express who you are as an employer. Candidates are offered a good view on who you are, who your employees are and what you’ll be doing at the company. I think it’s about being creative in your marketing as well as following trends.

Is the 45 Degrees Academy a good example of creative recruitment?
Experienced people are essential in any corporate environment, however, they’re hard to find, so you start thinking about training them yourselves. The time you invest in finding senior professionals is time you might spend training young potentials. Young employees need to be offered the chance to prove themselves and grow. Lots of companies forget this and need to take ownership of their recruitment. It’s easy to say you’re not finding new employees when you don’t have realistic demands.
What are your personal ambitions at 45 Degrees?
We’ve been talking about educating people and proposing employees the opportunity to grow and that’s exactly what I’m aiming at as well. I really want to find the right people to start sustainable careers. 45 Degrees is the perfect place to do this, because they put everything in place to make sure people stay for the long term.

What's been great at working at the club so far?
Everyone is really accessible and open for questions or to give advice. My colleagues are all solution oriented as well: if you have a good idea, go for it. Otherwise we’ll finetune it to make it work. 45 Degrees is really authentic, you’re genuinely a part of the club instead of a number on the payroll. We really have a good team going here. You can tell 45 Degrees is focused on their people and on the future.
