The LIES You Need to Un-Tell Yourself to Make That Leap

Building cross-channel strategies with fresher perspectives without the bureaucracy.
I really believe in my heart and soul that a single action can change your perspective of life. As a friend, co-worker, or your boss it doesn't matter. Every one of you have a fear of judgement, criticism, and that is the sole reason for not going all in. But everyone has experienced that AH-HA moment where something fundamentally changed the way you see the world.
I've been thinking about this a lot, and subconsciously, I think for the majority of my career life from Omnicom to PriceGrabber to Yahoo! to LegalZoom and beyond. If you are cynical about the crippling effects of fear, I challenge you to take that leap on the "thing" you've always talked about and go all-in. You will recall many specific moments, conversations, when you're listening to that motivational podcasts, that had such an impact on how you see the world, that you felt strongly but not enough to drop everything and risk it all.
What's holding you back? You decided NOT TO. You decided to keep doing what you're doing even though you have been complaining, you are afraid of losing it all, you decided to play it safe, you chose to not roll the dice and execute on your dreams and passion.
I've expressed a lot about going all-in in previous articles, now let's talk about the lies you have allowed you to tell yourself - and un-tell them today.
Your own lies is a perfect blend of fear, low self esteem, impatience, and hope.
STOP IT! WAKE UP!
Lies are comfortable, it creates a safe place you can chill in forever. To avoid confusion with words, I want to clarify this. You need to start making yourself believe in yourself TODAY, right NOW. There's too many of you living day to day, and I am 100% confident that living day-to-day is not living. One of the biggest misconceptions I see when talking to people is that good things will come to them, if they work hard enough long enough. There is no free lunch. Your dreams do not just come true - you are not in a Disney fairy tale. When I hear "living day-to-day," I hear not motivated. I implore you to break out of your own web of lies so you can finally taste what winning is like. You will rise from the ashes when you pursue your passion.
In a time when so many stay in their own world of lies, you need to face yours openly.
What I am proposing to you is simple, but not easy. You are living in a time when technology, social networks, resources are accessible to you anytime anywhere. There is living proof in our time to show you that anything is possible if you choose to execute and not just talk about trying. It's you against yourself. It's you doubting yourself. It's you feeling you are not good enough. You can spend the rest of your life in the catacombs of lies, or you can start creating a better you, then you that will risk it all and execute on your dreams to change your life.
What's holding you back are these lies you have been telling yourself and allowing into your life, it's the very poison that stops many of us from pursing our passion.
But at the end of the day, what matters is you playing your game on your own terms with your own truth. Realize that.
