Lies we tell kids

Hi! This article is written by a child that was never told to believe in Santa ... or the Tooth Fairy. I used to think this was normal...as every child believes about their family's idiosyncrasies. That changed after I watched "The Santa Claus"; a holiday classic that showed most kids are taught to believe in a literal Santa, Elves, and flying reindeer. I knew some kids believed in that, but didn't realize this was the default option for most parents in the United States. Sometimes my friends or family ask me if I feel like I missed out on something. That's hard to say, but I do have a few thoughts to share with my future self on the lies parents often tell kids.
