Lies, Lies and Interviews
I know it is becoming harder to spot a lie in an interview. ??
With 81% of candidates 'embellishing' the truth, and Career Coaches and Recruiters 'prepping' candidates with their career story, it can be hard to spot Fact from Fiction and make the right decision during the hiring process.
What I found is when I started asking candidates what their previous supervisors/ managers would say about them if I called them up today, was nothing short amazing. The look of surprise was ILLUMINATING. ??
With today's technology, we can find ANYONE and hop on a quick call for a reference check. Candidates know this is true. ?? We are all becoming a bit internet savvy these days.
Asking these questions upfront, at the beginning of the interview process can dash a lying candidate's hopes and really save you in the long run as they will spill their truths- or not.
?? The TRUTH is what will help you to hire better employees, set the tone for your leadership style and your company culture and help you sleep at night during the weeks, maybe even months of interviewing. Not to mention dodging a bullet when it comes to lying candidates.
If you are looking for TOP talent in Consumer Packaged Goods, let's get on a call. I would love to tell you all about how I dash liars hopes in the interview process.
