Lies Greatest Victim

When we lie to others we cause the greatest injury to ourselves. Some of us convince ourselves that our motives are for the better. Not so!

It begins with a small white lie. A lie that we see as protecting the feelings of others. A lie that compounds the distortion of reality into a falsehood. Lies are the stairway to Hell. They have only one direction. They range from gossip to concealment. They are outright distortions of the truth or they slither in the dark weaving a web of omission. However they be, they grow and compound their entanglement within our soul.

Honesty may be a steep painful requirement, but it is worth our effort moving forward to God. We cannot be honest with God and others less we first be honest with ourselves. Lies greatest victim is ourselves!
