With Liberty and Justice for All

I don’t understand why Christians fixate on those things of the earth that won’t be relevant in eternity.?

  • Marriage won’t exist?
  • Sexuality won’t exist
  • Physicality and social constructs won’t exist (I’m including in this category gender, identity, orientation, ethnicity, race, religion, culture, heritage, language differences, etc.)
  • Materialism won’t exist
  • Education won’t exist
  • Hate and suffering won’t exist?
  • Sin won’t exist?

I could go on but I won’t. You get the point.?In eternity, none of the things that currently divide us will exist.

That said, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, concern yourself with your own relationship with God.?

I am nearly certain some of you are about to protest and object.?

"But, the Bible says…”?

You’re likely thinking as a Christian you’re charged with the mission to share the good news of the Gospel and speak the truth in love regardless of whom it offends.??

I hear you.?

The Gospel is good news. Speaking the truth in love is good too. But not if they come from the heart and mouth of a self-righteous hypocrite.?

Love is the operative word.?

Not cynicism.

Not hateful judgment.?

Not condemnation.?

Seriously—self-reflect. Look inward. Check yourself.?

Pause and consider your own condition.

Though you were once a lost sheep and have since been found, you will?never?be a 100% sinless sheep 100% of the time this side of eternity.?

It’s not that deep. In fact, it’s pretty simple.

  1. Remember what you are—a sinner.
  2. Remember whose you are and why—a sinner saved by?God’s grace?not by anything you did to earn or deserve it.?
  3. Remember, although you’re a Christ believer, at one time you weren’t. And now that you are, you are no better than anyone else because you still sin—and forever will—while living on this earth.

And hopefully, after you remember all that, you will be more compassionate and able to see the world in all its variety as coming from God and it will become easier to?love all sheep, all the time—both the lost and the found.?
