Kristen Michal nominated Estonian Prime Minister

On 22 July, Kristen Michal was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Estonia for the Estonian Reform Party as a new coalition government entered in force. Estonian liberals retain the Prime Minister as well as six ministerial roles. Yoko Alender, Member of the Estonian Parliament, is the new Minister of Climate and Erkki Keldo has become the Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry.

Liberals elected Chairs of EP Committees

On 23 July, Committees in the European Parliament held the first meetings of the new mandate to elect members of their Bureau. ALDE Party Co-President Ilhan Kyuchyuk MEP, Barry Andrews MEP and Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann MEP were elected as Committee Chairs, and will steer forward legislation in their respective policy areas during the course of the tenth mandate.
