Leadership for Five Seasons (LFS) is kicking off two new classes this fall! LFS is the premier community leadership program in the Cedar Rapids area and has shaped our city’s leaders for the last 42 years. Today, we are delighted to announce our classes of 2025! LFS is hosted by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance .
Adult Class
Adult LFS empowers participants with a comprehensive understanding of our community’s challenges and opportunities while also providing broader knowledge of our region and the role future leaders can play as engaged citizens. It is a 10-month program featuring monthly themed excursions. By the end of the program, participants will earn a deeper understanding of the history, economy, and national significance of Cedar Rapids and its surrounding area.??
LFS looks for professionals who have volunteer experience in the community and additional capacity to become more involved. After a myriad of interviews and a highly competitive application process, here’s who was chosen for this year’s class:?

The best way to prepare for applications before they open?is to educate yourself and your letter writers on the program, obtain support for the time off and funding from your employer, and reflect on your community involvement and leadership experience. LFS is looking for professionals who have volunteer experience in the community and additional capacity to become more involved. Individuals who have not taken part in any community or leadership organizations outside of their job are encouraged to do so prior to applying for LFS.

Applications:
Interested in applying for Youth LFS in the future? Students from qualifying high schools must apply in the spring of their sophomore year through their school’s guidance office. Applications open after spring break and are due to the guidance office by or before the first week in May. (Check with your guidance office for specific deadlines, application materials, and letter of recommendation guidelines.)
