CATL, a leading battery technology manufacturer, presented its latest achievement at the Beijing Auto Show: a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery promising a 1,000 km range for electric vehicles when fully charged. Utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques, CATL optimized the cathode's particle arrangement to enhance energy density, while employing a honeycomb-like material on the anode side to increase surface area and stability. The battery's single-block housing maximizes storage capacity. CATL claims a 10-minute charge can power a 600 km trip, with a full 1,000 km charge achievable in approximately 16.6 minutes! Advanced coatings on electrodes and an AI-powered battery management system contribute to these breakthroughs.
