A Stroll Through History ????? Lexington's journey begins in the 1700s, with Native American tribes like the Cherokee and Shawnee inhabiting the lush Bluegrass Region. By 1775, frontiersmen named their settlement Lexington, setting the stage for a city deeply intertwined with American history.

In 1779, Lexington emerged as a permanent settlement, each year adding stories like the wildcat attack in a schoolhouse in 1783 ??, and the founding of the First African Baptist Church in 1790, marking a pivotal moment in Lexington's African American heritage ????.

Fast forward to the 20th century, and you'll find Lexington at the heart of Prohibition, leading to a surge in bourbon prices and clandestine whiskey dealings ??. I love Lexington. I was a student at U.K. from 1965 to 1970. Then, I continued to live there until 1978, when I joined Peace Corps.
