Lewd Laws Jocular Journos

Lewd laws jocular journos

?Just a coincidence, met an old friend of mine, self proclaimed journalist, from the vernacular media, hello! Some pleasantries, when suddenly he told me, he is producing a short film production on U-Tube and some Channel, something about the Common Civil Code; he asked me, if I have something to contribute? Well! What spontaneously traversed my mind, was a research paper on the subject, presented by me at a law conference, held by MATS Law University, Raipur Chhattisgarh, in 2017, which I have uploaded on academia.edu

Visited the site, downloaded that paper, yea he could not understand as it was in English, got some Hindi speaking, North Indian advocate to explain the contents to him, because journalist usually are not very conversant with law; and I was hoping he would comprehend the subject in the proper perspective. After number of attempts through number of people to explain the technicalities, legalities, he yet failed to appreciate the essence of its meaning; and eventually, I had to abort the idea, of having him incorporate my version; as I’d prefer not to appear in print or visual, rather than quoting wrong. I doubt whether he or the advocates called in to help him, could understand the subject up to eternity. He refused to see any speciality in my research paper, went on talking about Article 370 of the constitution of India and all Indians being equal. I invited his attention to other regional States in India, where Central Acts are not binding, besides Arunachal Pradesh, where all Indians are not entitled to a domicile, only select Indians whose origins are from Arunachal Pradesh get a domicile (Without a domicile one can’t get admissions to schools, colleges of even a job with the State Government), so in effect discriminations and privileges exist all over the country, why select only “Kashmir”, because the knowledge and experience; of not only journalist, advocates and peoples representatives is limited.

People agitate, for their private agenda’s, and stubbornly not on point of law; as they refuse to see reason, or religiously follow the law text books, it was futile trying to explain that logically Hindus stand to lose, in terms of direct taxation, as now they are governed by Mitakshara law, where certain privileges are conferred upon them by virtue of following the Hindu United Family (HUF); because all shall become eligible or none shall become eligible to that facility; if the Common Civil Code is introduced; that apart, there are other distinct disadvantages, further what happens to some regional States and Union territories, which are governed by Civil Law, due to treaties and conventions between the sovereign India and other countries? Got disillusioned, could not convince the journo, nor the advocates. All and sundry have started to lecture and write. Decided not to discuss with incompatibles, discussion, debate, dialogue adjourned for now.
