Leveraging LinkedIn for Trade Shows

Conferences and trade shows are wonderful ways to meet targeted buyers and build relationships. But just buying a ticket and showing up isn't enough. Here are a few key ways to leverage LinkedIn to make your trade show experience more productive:

Before the Trade Show:

If you have a list of participants or vendors, send connection requested to targeted people:

Name, I am looking forward to TRADE SHOW DATE and noticed you will be attending as well. I would like the opportunity to meet you personally and explore ways we may be able to work together. I would to invite you to our Booth #### and maybe even meet for a cup of coffee one morning.

When they connect:

I am looking forward to TRADE SHOW. This event is going to be crazy busy, and I’d really like the opportunity to meet you in person. Are you open to scheduling 15 minutes, we can meet at our booth ####. I have Monday morning at 11am open – would that work for you? If so, what your best email, I can send a calendar invite.

BONUS: If you have Sales Navigator tag them as the TRADE_SHOW_YEAR so you can go back and engage everyone with

At the Trade Show:

Use the Nearby App to connect and send a welcome template (use text expander to save the note):

Name, Great connecting at TRADE SHOW and thanks for connecting with me! Let’s schedule a time to continue our chat - here is a link to my calendar https://ScheduleaCallwithBrynne.com – please pick a time that works best for you.

After the Trade Show:

Send connection request from mobile (From Their Profile, click on More and Personalize Invite):

Name, I enjoyed meeting you at TRADE SHOW. Today and as we discussed, I am looking forward to continuing our conversation. (RECAP CONVERSATION) As discussed, here is a link to my calendar https://ScheduleaCallwithBrynne.com – please pick a time that works best for you.

I would add as a BONUS at the show, if a conversation with someone goes well, use the code and scanner to immediately find their profiles and connect on LinkedIn as a way to end the conversation. Most people have not used it yet and it still as a small wow factor that will leave a lasting impression for further conversation, after the event.
