Do you like reading??
Do you like books you can learn from like “Influence” by Robert Cialdini, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey, or “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell??
I do.?
And I have read hundreds of those books over the years following the guidance “Leaders are Readers”.?
Have I implemented the insights??
Some of them but far too few.?
Maybe you know someone like me. Then please share the ideas from the article with your friend.?
Since I have started immersing myself in #generativeai with a number of certifications and through developing courses and classes for others, I am always testing new ideas and approaches.?
And one interesting idea was to combine the content of such a “genius book” with a question I was working on.?
Marrying ChatGPT with “Influence”?
Let me walk you through the steps, so you can share them with your friends who are also not happy with how they implement the insights of the books they are reading.?
Step 1 - Frame the scene?
As always, it is super helpful and important to provide ChatGPT as much context as possible.?
As an example is the intent to better understand your target audience. You would let ChatGPT know who you are targeting. The more details you can provide the better it is.?
It goes something like this:?
You are Marketing Manager of an IT-Consulting company. The company targets CFO′s of medium to large companies. The typical CFO is generally interested in emerging technologies and the relevance for the business and in particular for the numbers but the CFO is not really tech-savvy. He likes to refer to his CIO and CDO.?
The Consulting company wants to discuss the relevance of GenerativeAI and how this can change the Finance function.?
Is that enough background information??
ChatGPT: Yes, ….
Step 2 - Introducing the book?
领英推荐
Are you aware of the book “Influence” and the key elements of it??
ChatGPT: Yes, ….
Step 3 - Marrying the two
Please combine the profile of the CFO and the insights of the book "Influence" and create a list of key learnings and key messages we need to take into account when targeting someone like the CFO.
ChatGPT: Yes, …
And you should get some really nice ideas and input.
The vast ocean of information is now in reach
These three steps allow you to combine any book with any problem.?
Are the outcomes always great??
Of course not. But more often than not, you will be able to use the input for your work to gain new insights and angles.?
Can you paste and copy??
Of course not. But it takes you 70% or 80% of the way to the goal in certain situations.?
It is a great way to tap into the vast ocean of knowledge based on the most amazing books and the specific problems you are working on.
You and your friends can keep on reading, and now your friends also have a way to integrate the insights into their daily work.?
Let me know how you go and what questions you have.?
Have a wonderful weekend.?
PS: This article was written by me with almost no support of ChatGPT. If you want to read the “rewritten” version leave a comment and I send you that version to compare.
