With the current ongoing pandemic, Organizations are going through tough times and continuously searching for tools to mitigate, engage employees and get the best results.?
?Most are either working from home or working on a hybrid model. There is a prediction that most organizations would move towards a hybrid working even after the pandemic.?
With the current situation ongoing, HR has pressure to deliver a great employee experience, realized that "one size fits all” is of the past, generalized services will not help anymore.?
Let me give a brief on personalization, employee experience, and Artificial intelligence in this context.
?Personalization: Katie Sweet defines personalization as?“The act of tailoring an experience or communication based on information a company has learned about an individual.”?
Employee experience is all about what occurs in the employee life cycle - starting from the day a candidate (prospective employee) applies for a job, joins the organization, resigns, is relieved, and until the final settlement.?
Understanding that every employee is different and each has their way of perceiving things, Organizations are adopting personalization in employee experience, rewards, recognition, Learning & Development Programs. Programs are tailored based on the information learned about an individual - age, family, gender, hobbies, interests, etc. HR can be creative as much as possible.?
Artificial intelligence is one tool to personalize employee experiences. AI has become more popular today for these reasons – increased data volumes, advanced algorithms, and improvements in computing power and storage.?
Apart from using AI in performing redundant, and repetitive work - interview scheduling, coordination, answering questions related to the interview process, policies, practices, etc. It can also be used in providing personalized experiences on job mapping, career growth, learning, rewards, benefits, engagement, etc.?
Also, it can provide insights on employee performance, well-being, job satisfaction, retention, predict attrition, and so on.?

Here are a few areas AI can help personalize employee experience:
1. Automate Employee Experience: Matching jobs to candidates, interview coordination, scheduling interviews, conducting online tests, offering, follow-up with shortlisted candidates on joining, answering various questions related to the hiring process, company policies, practices, and many more.
2. Career growth plans: Identify employee interests and help design their career growth with HR.?
3. Rewards: Rewarding every employee based on their likes, interests, hobbies, etc.
4. Performance: AI can provide insights on performance based on previous data available.?
5. Training and Development: The training needs of an employee can be predicted and learning can be designed.?
6. Employee Well-being: Based on the data feed by an employee, AI can provide or hint HR on employee well-being (Physical / Mental).
While there has been increased usage of AI in Organizations considering the uses, caution is required as no tool or technology is fool-proof. Likewise, the results of usage of AI depends on the accuracy of the data provided, individual employee, algorithm, etc. HR has to be clear on the use of AI, the readiness of management, employees and its impact, etc.?
