Leverage Your Before-and-After Galleries

If you are a doctor in the aesthetic space (plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, dermatology, etc.), one of the best tools you can leverage inside your website is your before-and-after gallery. Let's take a look at how to do this effectively so you can start acquiring more new patients online!

How to Leverage Your Before-and-After Galleries

When you build a case within your gallery, you want to make sure that you have more than just the photos themselves. Having relative patient information about the case next to the photos helps you tell their story, which allows prospective patients to relate to the case.

Some of those elements can include:

  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Procedure(s) Performed
  • Patient Conditions
  • Devices Used
  • Products Used

A little story telling goes a long way too. Something as simple as 2-3 sentences including WHY the patient came to see you (TIP: look back at the conditions you mentioned), WHAT procedures were performed and HOW they felt after having the procedure (i.e. happy with the results, etc.)

This allows for the new prospective patient to better understand the history, what took place and the outcome with an emotional connection at the end. At DoctorLogic, we have found that the better a doctor can showcase their outcomes, the better they can increase their outcome!

You want this information in your website, not just having a "look book" sitting on your coffee table in your reception area. Leveraging galleries correctly can not only can help you with your SEO to help you get found online for more keywords that consumers are looking for relative to the procedures that you offer, but it is one of the most important conversion elements you need to have to get prospects to call or email the practice.

At the end of the day, consumers want to see your work. If your cases are not displayed well on your website (or not at all), most consumers will not even contact your practice. They will simply go back to Google and look at your competitors who are doing displaying galleries correctly inside their websites.

Additionally, once new patients are sitting with you in your consultation room, you want to use your website as a selling tool. Not everyone will schedule a surgery while they are there and you are training them to go back to it.

Wouldn't it be nice to show them a case study of a patient with similar conditions who had the same procedure performed?

If you have multiple cases on your website that are similar to the patient you are consulting, it helps build credibility and trust and helps you set expectations with them on what to expect.

You can always follow up with links in an email after the appointment that they could then go home and review, just make sure that your website and gallery is mobile friendly, because over half of your prospective patients will be reading this information on their smartphones!
