I wrote about how individuals can aspire to grow in my previous article, growth circles and now want to unwrap about leadership levels and its impact on transforming companies from Good to great. I'd highly encourage everyone to read the book, Good to great written by Jim Collins to learn more about leadership.
Good companies transformed as great companies only because of, Level 4 leaders.
Jim calls this concept as "Levels of leadership", and below is my attempt to visualize his narrative.
Level 1: Highly talented individuals who are knowledgeable, talented and skillful in a specific area
Level 2: They pass on individual's skills and talents gained from Level 1 to team members.
Level 3: People who are excellent at organizing people, resources to solve specific objectives. These people shape themselves as competent managers.
Level 4: They showcase commitment, vigorous pursuit to land clear and compelling vision showcasing high standards of performance. This is the first stage of shaping themselves as an effective leader.
Level 5: Level 1 + Level 2 + Level 3 + Level 3 + Level 4 + humility, grit and being ambitious for a cause that would benefit a product, company, industry or mankind.?
