Level Up YOUR Life with These 5 Actionable Steps

Are you yearning for a better life? … if your answer is a resounding “yes” then worry no more because you’re in the right place. Over the last 10 years, I’ve coached countless clients and since then I’ve created my list of the top five actionable ways to take your life to the next level.?
Now, I’m not going to put up a front. These actions aren’t necessarily easy, but, and this is a big but, if you can implement them and remain consistent I can almost guarantee you that you’ll see a profound impact on your living standards. Not just in your work life, but your personal one too. As humans we need to be well-rounded individuals and so this list was created to develop all aspects of your life big or small. Let’s get cracking.?
Action 1: ALWAYS keep learning and growing
Many people are under this illusion that growing is an option when in reality, it’s a necessity. Your mind is like a muscle, it thrives on continuous learning and growth. Think of it this way: If you always run west looking for a sunrise you will never find it. Practical and applicable knowledge is vital to our existence and whilst it’s pretty unrealistic to become a master of anything, it is the journey that is worth embarking on. It’s the only way you can truly see what you are capable of because I promise you that whatever you think you can achieve can be doubled with hard work and consistent growth.?
Consider Malcolm Gladwell's famous “10,000-hour concept” in which he believes that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master of something and whilst the exact time required varies from topic to topic it highlights something extremely important. That thing is that whether you are learning a new language, developing a daily habit or simply gaining knowledge your brain needs exercise to continue helping you develop your skillset to the next level.?
Action 2: EMBRACE discipline
Over the years I’ve seen many people give discipline a bad rap for sounding tedious and mundane, but in truth, it’s the cornerstone of creating a stress-free life. It allows you to take back control of your health, wealth and productivity. When you become disciplined in EVERY action you set yourself, you in turn set yourself free from the constraints of this chaotic world we live in.
This means you MUST be ruthless in your pursuit of freedom. For example, let’s talk about fitness. Consistently training and eating healthily gives you the freedom to occasionally indulge in a sweet treat when you please. Or, think about building a business. If you consistently put in the effort you will eventually get the freedom of leaving your 9-5, setting your own hours and potentially working from wherever you desire.
Action 3: EVALUATE your social circle
We’ve all heard about how you’re the average of your 5 closest peers and you’ve probably pondered at some point to yourself if this holds any truth. Well, it does… your social circle not only has an immense impact on your future successes but also your overall well-being. When thinking about your loved one I’d like you to consider the following: Do these people close to you lift you up? Do they support you when you set goals? Or.. do they drain your energy and sow seeds of doubt??

Now, I’m not necessarily saying that you need to cut people off and never speak to them again, but to become successful you need to be selfish. Ultimately, your time here is limited and so if you have dreams of becoming wealthy then you need to focus on yourself and be selfish so that in due course you can become selfless. I like to think of it as taking a step back to take 3 forward.
Action 4: MINIMISE useless distractions
Unfortunately, in today’s world, distractions are in abundance, and sadly this means our ability to focus is diminishing. This means you need to take BACK control by stepping away from your smartphone from time to time. The constant stream of pings, dings and dongs doesn’t give your mind time to focus and reflect.?
One thing I’ve done which has brought me success in leading a distraction-free day at LEAST once a week is to throw my phone out the window. Ok, maybe I don’t throw my phone out the window but I at least leave it outside of my working space so that I can have a few hours to smash through my weekly power tasks that NEED to be completed.?
Action 5: MAKE time for fun
Perhaps, the most challenging but rewarding step is to schedule time for fun in your life. I’d like you to grab a pen and pad and write down 10 things in your life that bring to joy. Now… if you struggle to do this then take it as a sign that you need more joy in your life. Schedule enjoyable activities regularly not just months in advance but every week you can.
Make sure you balance familiar and new experiences to always keep your life exciting, by doing this step you secure your happiness and enjoyment of life.?
In conclusion, improving your life is within reaching distance… start today by committing yourself to a life of learning, embracing discipline, evaluating social circles, minimising distractions and having fun. This is YOUR life, let’s make the best of it.?
