Are you struggling to let positive emotions in, especially in the workplace?
Do you feel like it's challenging to feel happy or empowered at work?
You're not alone. Many people find it difficult to allow themselves to feel positive emotions, even in a professional setting. In this blog post, we'll explore why it's important to let in positive emotions and how to overcome the challenges that may be holding you back.
I just finished a 2-hour intensive coaching session.
It was all about taking leadership at work, saying your truth when working with a group, feeling empowered, and sharing ideas. We used a systemic process to understand the problem and find solutions, and at some point, we realized that my client has trouble letting in positive emotions.
“It feels scary and somehow uncomfortable”. Oh Gosh, I can relate to that, Oh Gosh, so many of us can relate to that.
Is it you too?
Beginning of the year, with a friend of mine, we started an abundance challenge, and we faced this too…. Letting in and feeling the abundance of joy was a difficult part for my friend and, to be honest, for me too.
This got me thinking: why are we afraid to let positive feelings in? Why, for some reason, do we fear joy?
Why is it important to let in positive emotions?
Positive emotions play a critical role in our overall well-being, both in our personal lives and in the workplace. They can improve our mood, reduce stress, and increase our sense of happiness and fulfillment. In the workplace, positive emotions can lead to better job satisfaction, improved performance, and more meaningful connections with colleagues. However, some people find it challenging to allow themselves to feel positive emotions. Let's explore why.
Challenges of Letting in Positive Emotions:
3.? Self-doubt: Some people struggle with self-doubt, which can lead them to believe that they don't deserve positive emotions or that they're not worthy of them.

Tips for Overcoming the Challenges:
1.? Seek support: Consider speaking with a therapist, coach, or trusted friend or family member who can offer support and guidance.
2.? Reframe negative experiences: Try focusing on what you've learned or gained from negative experiences to help reframe them in a positive light.
3. Practice vulnerability: Start small by sharing your ideas with colleagues or asking for help when you need it to build your comfort level with vulnerability.
4. Build self-confidence: Practice positive self-talk and celebrate your successes to build self-confidence and combat self-doubt.
5. Express positive emotions regularly: Make an effort to express positive emotions regularly, even in small ways, to build your comfort level and improve your overall well-being.
Letting in positive emotions can be challenging, but it's an essential step toward improving your overall well-being and work-life balance. 1 年Yes, I do experience this as if I am always waiting for my shoes to drop. Like somehow the universe will penalize me for having too much of a good thing. This is probably why I tend to expect much from myself because I might lose something. Thank you, Christelle Pillot, for asking and for talking about something we have difficulty admitting.
