Hey Listeners!
When we reflected on the last 6 months in our country and the world, the one theme we couldn’t ignore was letting go (play episode).
You probably ended 2019 with inspiring visions of what this year would bring. And yet, for most of us, it has been entirely different than we imagined. We’re right there with you.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t release our expectations to accept our new realities.
Make no mistake, letting go doesn’t mean we submit to apathy. Individually, it means we hold our dreams, but release the way we thought we’d get them. And as a collective, we meet the moment. We allow an interruption in the regularly scheduled programming that is our lives. Because globally, we’re being asked to change what hasn’t been working.
Here are some highlights we want you to have from our recent episode – listen in to get all the goodness!
Why is Letting Go So Tough?
“One is never afraid of the unknown; one is afraid of the known coming to an end”- Jiddu Krishnamurti
- We like our lives certain and safe. Even if we aren't happy.
- Letting go of something feels like we’re giving up on an outcome we want.
How Can You Get Better at Letting Go? Try These 4 Steps.
- Check out your story: When was the last time life worked out for you against the odds or when you weren’t pushing so hard on an outcome? Find the story in your life that proves you are supported even when life gets hard.
- Trust the Universe: Believe that outside of your perceived control, something bigger than you is guiding you. Author, Fred Kaufman calls this your spiritual harness. When we understand there is something below us to catch us when we fall, we’re more likely to let go. We’re putting our harnesses on!
- Overcome self-limiting beliefs: Check in on the stories you tell yourself about what is and is not true or possible. Think about how those things hold you back or drive your actions. Who would you be without those thoughts? Replace them with new stories.
- Create positive affirmations: Author Louise Hay of You Can Heal Your Life, shares a series of positive affirmations around letting go that you can say aloud daily to release tension, fear, anxiety, guilt, sadness and anger. They are game-changing!
What will letting go mean for you? We want to hear from YOU, our listeners.
