Letting go …….
Tonight is the ‘beaver moon’, the last ‘super moon’ of the season.
It got its name because it was the last time of year when trappers would set their snares for beavers, assuring them of pelts before winter set in, while the animals themselves would reinforce their dams and stock their winter food supply.
It’ll be very visible around these parts and, like the bright moons of the past, will loom large in the sky.
There’s also an ancient pagan tradition that it signals “a time to let go of past troubles or grief and look forward to a new season and, soon, a new year.”
Let’s all hope there is some truth to that legend and do our best to put the most positive spin we can on that heavenly display.
Interestingly enough, sages have said over time that the beaver is a ‘spirit animal’ that signifies the power of adaptability, encouraging people to be resourceful in their daily lives and find creative solutions for their problems.
The beaver, we are told, also symbolizes hard work and wisdom since the creature is constantly working to adapt and create the life it desires.
Maybe we can learn something from that.
Here’s to a creative and adaptable future, my friends.
Hang in there, y’all.
