Connecting companies, careers & communities for good
I’ve learned that over-functioning can inhibit growth in both parenthood and professional leadership. This lesson hit home when a therapist advised, "Stop doing their laundry and making their lunches; they're in high school."
This seemingly straightforward advice opened my eyes to a broader leadership principle applicable in family and professional settings. By continuously stepping in to solve problems at home or work, I inadvertently stunted the growth of those I aimed to support. In response, I learned the importance of stepping back and allowing my children and team members to develop autonomy and confidence—qualities essential for personal development and professional success.
Emphasize empowerment over micromanagement. True leadership allows others the space to develop their decision-making skills, enhancing personal growth and organizational success.
Cultivate leadership qualities that individuals can carry forward into all areas of life. By championing this holistic approach, we can nurture leaders who are effective in their roles and contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
