Letting Go of Control: Using Faith and Science to Ease Anxiety

You’re Motivated—Most Days

You’re juggling a demanding career, a demanding kid, and a million other tasks and expectations.

You can picture what you want - the clean house, the close family, time with friends, and an incredible career, but lately, it feels kind of impossible, pointless, and definitely overwhelming.

And as much as you don't want to admit it, you wonder if that fire to be amazing is burning you out.

It's no wonder. The pressure to do it all and be everything for everyone is exhausting and unrealistic.

Micromanaging and trying to control every bump in the road while trying to feel excited about life doesn't work, but letting go feels way too dangerous.

After all, if you're not in control, who will make sure everything is perfect and done the way you know is right?

Here’s the thing, so many ambitious women think letting go of control means giving up.

It’s the opposite.

Letting go is how you find calm, confidence, and joy again.

Because trying to control everything—your boss, your teen, the economy—is not only impossible, it’s draining. And it keeps you from noticing all the good things already happening around you.


How to Let Go (Without Freaking Out)

  1. Admit You Can’t Do It All Newsflash: You’re human. Accepting that you can’t control everything is step one to finding peace.
  2. Focus on What You Can Control Shift your energy to things you can actually influence. (The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins will change your life!)
  3. Practice Mindfulness Use your senses to ground yourself or take deep breaths with long exhales to calm your body and mind.
  4. Tap into Something Bigger Whether it’s nature, spirituality, or a supportive community, connecting outside yourself helps shift your perspective.

In my opinion, letting go, invites ease and joy! When was it that we, as women, felt that we have to be everything for everyone and do everything for everyone! It's time to change that narrative! Great insights Megan!
