A Letter To Women

We are scared of our rage.

We think that men can't hold it.

That if we were our truest selves, they would run.

And for that, we feel shame.

Shame for needing support.

Shame for wanting love.

Shame for needing someone else.

The truth is we are human.

We learned as little girls that anger meant we were dangerous.

That anger meant we were crazy. Out of control.

That anger meant we were too much.

I think we are scared of ourselves.

Scared of our power.

And the best way to face our fears...

Is to face them.

To talk about our anger. To open up to our loved ones.

To let them decide if it's too much.

To let them step up to the plate to support us.

Instead of telling ourselves in our heads that no one will.

Even if the anger, is anger at ourselves, we must let it out.

Sometimes, in your car, you just want to look up at the sky and yell, "FUCK!".

Do it.

Dance it out.

Yell it out.

Shake it out.

It's thousands of years of fire.

And once the volcano erupts, new land can grow.

New worlds are built.

Connections are made.

As you listen to yourself for the first time, unfiltered...

you have met your power.

The earth's power.
