Letter to Self…

I told myself I would write myself a letter before year end. Guess what, I have been journaling every day for the past 2 months (rain or shine), and I am hooked, can’t stop, won’t stop.

Here I am in Cali, on vacay, a little me time, a little family time during the holiday to reflect about just everything. Then, suddenly, I received this text from my COO.

I was speechless, not because of the size of the bottle of wine, but it makes me think about that in Life, it’s not the BIG BREAKS or LOSSES that MAKES YOU; it is the finer details along the way that allows you to experience that matters the most. My COO didn’t need to hand deliver the gift, put it in my closet and lock it up? Which boss does that? Say NO ONE. This is the third book I received from Michael within less than a year I have been with this organization. Talk about investment in human capital. I’ve learned to practice daily gratitude (I am so very thankful for many things) this year.

In 2020, it was a difficult year for myself, I called it a transition phase. I take every difficult moment I need to endure as a transition phase, because I truly believe that we live in a temporal space, everything is impermanent. The only constant is change, and it is the wonderful organ that can only control our thoughts is right between our ears (our mental state, our mind).

This year, I call it a ‘Year of Growth’ for myself.

I’ve learned that aside from talent and hard work, surrounding yourself with people that believe in you, have your back (support squad) are just as important, if not, more. I am fortunate to say the least, I have my support squad this year. Along the way, I am thankful for my organization in investing in me to work with a business coach, Brian Brittain. My COO, Jim for nominating me to become a Board member in the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, because I truly do want to give back in ways that I can. I made some great friends this year at work, Marie Colby, Mary-Anne Hart, David Britton, Ken Boswell and the management team at Newmarket Toyota (near and dear in my heart). I rarely, and have not really developed these kinds of friendships throughout my career, but this year surely, I gained them in a span of such short time. ?I’ve learned that when you open your doors to the right people in life, a great relationship will blossom, it will be reciprocated. It is a wonderful feeling.

Year 2020, you can kiss my bottom, and thank you Year 2021. Year 2022, I don’t know what’s to expect and what’s to come, but I am ready for you!!
