A Letter from Our CEO
Gold Coast Baseball Academy
Developing student-athletes to prepare them for a future in athletics, academics, and life
The desire to play baseball at the next level has consumed both athletes and parents alike. The youth sports industry is projected to grow exponentially over the next five years as our student-athletes chase the dream of playing at the collegiate level, and even hope for the chance to play professionally one day. The reason I know this all too well, is because I am a mom to one of those athletes.
As a single working mother of three, I found myself always hustling. The constant day to day of juggling schedules and appointments was overwhelming, especially for baseball. For years, I was on the road at least 6 days a week driving my son to his various lessons to prepare him for the upcoming season. One night, as I was waiting for one of his lessons to finish, depleted from exhaustion, I envisioned a facility that has everything in one location. A place where a parent can drop off their student-athlete and they will receive all the academic and athletic training they need in one place rather than drive around from location to location.
In the Northeast, there are currently no organizations that truly give student-athletes everything they need to succeed. The Northeast has the highest population density, highest student athlete density, and one of the lowest rates of college athletes in the US. The reason is training, along with the proper development both on the field and in the classroom. Gold Coast Baseball is going to revolutionize how a student athlete develops and trains. We will replicate what is being done in the “hotbed” areas that produce college athletes. Our coaching staff will use all the modern technology, techniques and analytics used by many MLB and NCAA baseball organizations to train and develop our athletes.
Our staff will be some of the most creative, talented, and finest minds in the game. Being the first women CEO of what will be the most cutting-edge baseball academy in the Northeast, is something I take tremendous pride in. I will strive to break barriers and prove that women are just as capable, knowledgeable, and determined as men are when it comes to working in the sports industry. Women still face gender-based disadvantages and discrimination in various business sectors. The sports industry is an area in which the gender inequity is particularly prevalent. Gold Coast Baseball will give women the opportunity to work in an industry where many are being overlooked simply because they are female. We currently have 8 front office, female staff members and educators, who will bring their expertise, leadership, and skill set to all areas of our business. From our executives to our athletic training staff, to entry level positions, women will be at the forefront of Gold Coasts’ success on and off the field. We will do everything it takes to help student-athletes in the Northeast reach their athletic and academic potential.
