A Letter From Mother Earth

A Must Read - An Important Message for You!

Dear Human Beings,

Today, I write to you with a heavy heart and a great concern.

I am aware how your life has become upside down with the new Coronavirus. You are under constant threat and paralyzed by panic and worries of an uncertain future.

I want to tell you that no way I am trying to punish you or take revenge on you. Nor I’m angry or dangerous even though it may seem to you now.

Rather I WANT TO AWAKEN YOU!!

I have kept enough patience with your reckless insensitivity towards me. But I can no longer sit back and let you destroy everything. I have no other option but to respond to your over consumption, endless waste production, pollution and emissions, in this life-threatening way.

At this point of time, I want you to recall all those ways I tried to reach out to you in the past.

Through terrifying tornadoes, flooding waters, burning fires, hurricanes, tsunami earthquakes, severe droughts, crazy weather patterns, ravaging storms, melting glaciers, rising sea levels and many such calamities, I screamed and shouted out time and time again.

But you refused to pay any attention as everything else was more important than being considerate towards me. Never ending greed, terrorism, riots and wars, and hate and killings continued to increase. Moreover you tried to hide your misdoings behind “Reduce, Recycle, Reuse”, “Save Mother Earth” and many such campaigns.

I kept crying out for help but my ecosystem continued to be tampered with. When nothing else seemed to work, I had no other way but to MAKE THE WORLD STOP.

I gave you fever, so that you understand what it feels to be burnt.

I gave you respiratory issues, so that you understand what pollution is to air, soil and water.

I weakened you so that you understand how you weaken me every day.

You had got so busy running in the rat race that you forgot I’m not just a home to you but also to many other creatures and life forms.

Believe it or not, I also have my fears like you. I fear that a day will come when there will be no drinking water, trees, animals or birds. Now you know that I am doing all this to return to my original state of wholeness and completeness.

I never thought of taking such an extreme step but the time has come for you now to be more responsible for me and your fellow creatures.

I care for you, and that’s why I am warning you once and for all.

I am capable of doing greater harm than what you are experiencing now.

So my humble request to you is..

Can you please start recreating a space where all life forms can co-exist with harmony and balance?

And when all this is over, please don’t come back to your old ways of being and acting.

I wholeheartedly intend to continue being your cosy home, providing everything that’s essential for your survival.

Come reconnect with me, cherish me, and be compassionate towards me like you would, to a dying loved one. Don’t wait until it’s too late. I need your love and care now!
