A Letter From Coco CEO Colleen Moselle

This year marks my fifth anniversary at Coco, and it's got me reflecting on how this company has not just survived but evolved through 15 years of seismic changes in how we work.

Like many businesses, we faced unprecedented challenges in 2020. With multiple locations and a business model built around bringing people together, everything we thought we knew about coworking was suddenly in question. The future of the workplace itself seemed uncertain.

But here's what I learned about resilience:

1. Community isn't just about space - it's about people. When members couldn't come in, we found ways to stay connected. When they could return, they did because relationships matter.

2. Adaptability is everything. The companies that survived 2020-2021 weren't necessarily the biggest or best-funded. They were the ones willing to try new approaches, fail fast, and keep moving forward.

3. Trust your core purpose. While we adapted our services and spaces, we never wavered from our mission of creating environments where people and businesses thrive.

Some of our toughest decisions led to our strongest outcomes. We consolidated our footprint but deepened our impact. We doubled down on what worked and had the courage to let go of what didn't.

Looking ahead, I'm struck by a simple truth: Workspaces aren't just about desks and WiFi - they're about creating environments where people can do their best work and connect with others, whatever that looks like for them.

Thank you to every member, past and present, who has been part of this journey. Here's to the next chapter.

What lessons has your organization learned about resilience? What helped you navigate the challenges of the past few years?
