A Letter from the CEO

Today, we released our first investor video, which sheds light on our long-term vision and the progress we’re making towards building a trusted financial ecosystem—a single platform where consumers can learn about finance, shop for financial products, and manage their money.

Since I founded NerdWallet in 2009, shopping for financial products has only grown more complicated. Consumers have experienced an explosion of choice and are looking for a one-stop shop—a reliable source they can trust to help them make decisions about their finances. This industry growth also makes it more difficult for financial institutions to cut through the noise, and requires them to offer the best possible products and market them efficiently.?

At NerdWallet, we’ve created competitive advantages in both our organic reach and trusted brand, and believe we are well-positioned as both the one-stop shop for consumers and the preferred partner for financial institutions. We see evidence of this as we continue to take share in the large and growing U.S. financial services digital advertising market, which is projected to be more than $33 billion in 2024, with a 2023 4-year compound annual growth rate of approximately 15%. Meanwhile, our share in this growing market has also increased, with a 2023 4-year revenue compound annual growth rate of 27%.?

Our registered user base is up 37% year-over-year as of the end of 2023, which we’ve achieved through the successful execution of our growth pillars. We are delivering margin leverage as we grow our audiences in existing and new verticals and geographies, combine our advantages in brand and reach with best-in-class user experiences, and continuously engage consumers with valuable insights to ensure they return to us again and again.?

The success of these efforts results in a win-win-win: for the consumers we match with the best products, for the financial institutions who offer those products, and for NerdWallet’s business.
