We write this letter to covey our utmost sadness for what we did to you.

We witnessed your birth with tremendous joy and even gave you a name-Elle. All the members of your herd had names. We fought hard to protect you and your family for many year and developed a fond bond with you. Through tourism?you had many guests every year who would come to visit you and we made quite a handsome penny off those visiting.

However, in your old age and when your herd's numbers increased we forgot you are a sentient being. We sold you to the highest bidder for 20000 US Dollar and were okay to take that blood money as, "a vital and inevitable contribution to wildlife conservation".?

Suddenly we forgot your name and you become a tradable commodity, sliced open with your skin, head and ivory preserved to hang in a trophy room somewhere in Texas. We gave away your flesh as a generous and wholesome gift to the poor local communities-the truth is we just couldn't airlift all that steak to Texas!!?

Sorry we had to betray you like this Elle. Forgive us! Forgive us for allowing your blood to be spelt and your head to hang on someone's wall.
