A Letter of Appreciation

A Letter of Appreciation

With college graduation marking the end of one chapter of my life and the beginning of a new one, I would like to take a moment and thank everyone who’ve supported me along this journey thus far. Yes, I showed up. Yes I gave it my all. Yes, I did not quit. But I would be a fool to stand in front of anyone and claim myself "self made." I only took advantage of opportunities that were provided to me, some by family, and others by external circumstances that were completely outside of my control. And for that, I will forever be thankful.

Thank you to my mother, who’s had the biggest impact in my life thus far. When father died, you stayed strong and instilled that strength in us. Thank you for helping me become the man I am today. A man of character, strength, conviction, virtues, and morals. And a man who enjoins good and forbids evil. Without all of your sacrifices, I would not be half of the person I am today.

To my wonderful wife, thank you for believing in me and supporting me, when everyone thought that we were crazy for getting married at such a young age. This last year of college was especially challenging on both of us when we were blessed with our daughter. We were both parenting, going to school, and working simultaneously. It wasn’t easy, but we made it because we’re a team and our bond is now stronger than ever as a result, thanks to the Almighty.

To my sister and the rest of my family, thank you for being there for me through the ups and downs. Thank you for reminding me of what I was capable of, even when I had doubts myself.

To my friends, professors, and mentors, thank you for blessing me with your presence and for the opportunities that you’ve sent my way. You all know who you are, and I will forever be indebted to you.

I am excited to be starting on a new journey, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you. The future looks bright!
