Letter 70: On what makes Best Relationships

Letter 70: On what makes Best Relationships

In this new age there are three kinds of world we live in. Knowing it acts as a base to understand what makes best relationship

  1. World 1: a world that we consume: the endless reel scroll, the endless youtube shorts, the Netflix shows
  2. World 2: a world that consumes us: the one that is in our mind, of the people who occupy the space, of the projects that make us learn, yearn, fight and anxious
  3. World 3: a world that is mostly invisible but is around us and is driving our world in ways we don't understand truly.

World 1 typically is an escape from world 2. We use World 1, at times as a learning medium in order to signal the world 2 that we are ahead as a status signal.

Example: a person consuming endless social media content of fashion in order to dress differently to signal world 2 they belong or are ahead of the masses. People paying money to get tagged by events they havent really visited just to give a social signal.

Though we build a lot of relationship through World 1 & World 2, its the World 3 really where the best relationships are forged.

Is there a way to identify the best relationships ( remember I am not using the word True Relationship ) ?

The best relationships are Multipliers. They improve every areas of our life, from health to wealth to spirituality to every known and unknown aspect.

A great way to think about relationship is like garden and best ones are those where the plants are not just blossoming but is making everything around lively and energetic. A rose plant, which gives a nice fragrance around, has butterflies around, has thorns as it sets its boundaries and other plants too thrive around it.

Vs a plant which, the more you care, the more it creates toxicity around, is like a weed and anyone and everyone around stops thriving in the zone. Best relationships are Multipliers of your joys and brings the authentic aspects of you.

One good test of the best relationship in your life is: you will have least amount of photographs with them but will have most amazing memories.

May this christmas season bless you with wisdom to invest and water the plant which are your best relationships and let go of the ones that no longer serve the purpose. Merry Christmas.
