Let’s Vote For The Top Voices 2019 On LinkedIn In Finance, Accounting And FP&A!

A few weeks ago, LinkedIn released its Top Voice rankings for 2019. It’s a very exclusive club and only a few categories are included. Finance, Accounting, and FP&A are not included and it’s impossible to compare people in this space with people in Finance & Economy which is the closest relevant Top Voice category.

So, I set out on a project to create our own list and last Saturday I opened for nominations. More than 10,000 people have had the post shown in their feed. Of course, it can never cover all relevant profiles being active on LinkedIn like LinkedIn can do for their rankings. Still, by making it open for everyone to nominate it’s at least a somewhat fair game.

Some of the nominated candidates didn’t want to participate in this ranking and their wishes will without a doubt be respected. So, if you think some obvious names are missing in the field below that’s likely the reason. Feel free though to add names in the comments and we’ll consider how to include them if they so wish. 

Let’s look at the nominees! 

In total 21 people were nominated, validated for relevant and timely activities on LinkedIn (and accepted the nomination). You can find a list in alphabetical order (after surname) below with a brief description of what they do. 

Christopher Argent: Founder of Generation CFO and a big advocate of digital finance 

Andy Burrows: Founder of Supercharged Finance and a business partner at the heart 

Alan Cameron-Sweeney: The stick figure finance business partner who’s recently launched the podcast “The Influential Finance Business Partner” 

Andrew Codd: Founder of Strength In The Numbers which has released more than 200 podcasts featuring many inspirational finance leaders!

Vic Datta: Sharing his views Finance and digital through infographics 

Mohamed ElRouby: For years Mohamed was an avid sharer of content and this year he started to create his own focused on business partnering and it’s been a raving success! 

Nilly Essaides: Bringing us the latest research about the future of Finance from Hackett 

Tom Hood: Tom is all about making finance and accounting professionals future-ready and is the founder of the Business Learning Institute  

Brian Kalish: Brian is mostly a facilitator of knowledge-sharing within FP&A and organizes round tables around the world 

Robin Kiziak: Calls himself a Hardcore Finance Manager and I can only imagine that to be true. This year he’s given us #followfriday for finance professionals and given us something to laugh about on LinkedIn! 

Bryan Lapidus: Bryan is Head of the FP&A Practice at the Association for Finance Professionals which offers the only certification targeted specifically at FP&A professionals 

Anders Liu-Lindberg: Yes that’s me and No I didn’t nominate myself… Co-founder of the Business Partnering Institute and co-author of the book “Create Value as a Finance Business Partner” 

Larysa Melnychuk: Has an FP&A Board (like a roundtable concept) in almost all major cities around the world and is the founder of www.fpa-trends.com 

Abby Obomighie: Sharing real-life stories from her work as Head of FP&A at Hitachi 

Chris Ortega: Director of Finance at Emarsys, speaker, and BI & AI Evangelist 

Claire Stewart: Chartered Accountant and listed as Northern Irelands Young Leader of the Year in 2019 and part of Northern Ireland 40 under 40 in 2018 

Benjamin Stoter: Founder of the 80/20 Finance Business Partner and a real-life business partner 

Geetanjali Tandon: This year she’s given us the “This Week In FP&A” linking business events with FP&A could make an impact in that situation. She’s also Chair at the FP&A Advisory Council at the Association for Finance Professionals 

Don Tomoff: Don has been sharing a wealth of tips on how to better use Excel this year and in general is a leader in digital finance 

Ben Wann: Founder of The Numbers Guys and creator of several courses on how to become a better finance professional at Udemy. He was also named Exemplary Young Professional of the year by IMA 

Gabe Zubizarreta: CEO of Silicon Valley Accountants who leans out on delivering finance transformation results with a guaranteed ROI

The further process 

We started with a week of nominations and now it’s time to vote. You can go to this link https://bit.ly/TopVoiceFINACCFPA2 and vote for your favourite and we’ll keep the vote open until 26 December. The final results will be reviewed and if no irregularities are found the top 10 will be announced early January. Are you ready to start voting?
