Let’s unlock the potential of water and ocean solutions to save our planet

Let’s unlock the potential of water and ocean solutions to save our planet

This Monday 22nd of March we celebrate water across the globe to protect and value water resources. If the ocean was a country it would be the 7th largest economy in the world with a blue GDP of US$24 000 trillion derived from various industries including fishing, freight and logistics, medicine and energy to name a few. These activities have a direct impact on climate change, and sometimes participate in biodiversity degradation of aquatic ecosystems. Water resources and marine conservation are under threat and at the heart of the green and blue transition.

To address these challenges the World Impact Summit, the global gathering for climate solutions will rally and feature European innovators. We will unlock the Atlantic Arc’s growth potential and highlight the EU's breeding ground for aquatech, oceantech and cleantech innovation.

The Solution-based Corner is coming back and will curate more than 300 unique and accessible climate solutions.

“ The key of our success ? Shake up conventional thinking, act creatively and without innocence in favour of a positive and popular ecology, and build bridges between very diverse groups of stakeholders and industries.”Nicolas Pereira, Founder of the World Impact Summit

Innovators will exhibit at Palais de la Bourse in Bordeaux, France and digitally on a bespoke digital platform. They will have the opportunity to meet with business professionals across all sectors as well as investors, and participate in the annual climate solutions contest that will spur on debates and workshops.

Over two days expert speakers will join us to inspire our community, economy and society, and debate on targeted areas of intervention. Early confirmed speakers include: Isabelle AUTISSIER, honorary president at WWF France, Etienne KLEIN, physicist at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and professor at Ecole Centrale Paris, Gilles B?UF, marine biologist and professor at Ifremer, Jean JOUZEL, vice-president at Groupe d'experts intergouvernemental sur l'évolution du climat (GIEC), Pierre LARROUTUROU, European deputy, Denis CHEISSOUX, journalist and host at France Inter and Lamya ESSEMLALI, president at Sea Shepherd France.
