Let's tweak what isn't working.
While everyone is talking about changing their life for 2024. I realize I don't want a total change; I just want to tweak what isn't working. I want to do a few small changes that can impact my life in big ways. When we think about a complete overhaul it's easy to feel overwhelmed, stressed and fearful which leads to giving up. What if we did small changes instead?
1. What small step can you take starting today to have better health? Add more water into your day? We should be having at least 7-8 glasses of water a day. Are you drinking enough water? Add some movement into our day even if it's just a walk around the office or stretching.?Getting more sleep, go to bed 15 -30 minutes earlier. Review your basic needs and see what small changes you can make. These micro changes can have big results.
2. Reduce stress- add more mindfulness into your day. It can be 2-3 minutes of deep breathing, saying your morning prayers, sitting out in nature drinking your morning cup of coffee or tea, writing in your journal. It could be slowing down, reducing your multi-tasking or just savoring the?moment.?It doesn't take a lot of time to add mindfulness into your day. Mindfulness reduces your stress hormone cortisol, lowers blood pressure and reduces chronic pain. It's worth adding a few minutes of mindfulness into your day, look at all the benefits.
3. Add more positive emotions- we know if we have a daily dose of positive emotions, we can live up to 7 years longer, healthier and happier so why wouldn't?we do it.?Add more love, happiness/joy, gratitude, curiosity, pride, hope, kindness into your day. Need a few ideas on how to get more positive emotions?
4. Challenge yourself everyday - how can you step out of your comfort zone and cultivate?growth.
5. Digital Detox- we all need a break from technology. Whether it's no phones at dinner time, shutting all technology off after 8pm or Sunday is tech free day. You pick what works for you.
