Lets try and ban one handed CPR!
I am amazed that despite the millions spent worldwide teaching CPR kills we still see people doing one handed CPR in Adults - because its easier for EMS teams as they walk along a corridor....
Where else in our world would we tolerate such incompetence?
Come on EMS Folks.... Lets Start a Plan to - BAN Poor CPR
Poor CPR kills - its simple... So why allow it?
So when your EMS teams get to the hospital TO UNLOAD find a solution that allows you to compress to 2 inches +
Poor CPR = loss of everything you did that was good, loss of coronary perfusion pressure etc etc...
one handed CPR doesn't cut it...
BAN IT - if you see it STOP IT...
Also
Push in the Right place... please...
No excuses - Middle of the Chest - Push hard and Deep...

8 年Chris hi - I think the problem is that Lucas or autopulse are still not global - I've just returned from a trip where defibs aren't on every ambulance. So we need a manual solution - I very much agree with the sentiment of moving only when justified but - I met a team last week from USA with ecmo CPR- doing great things - but their Amb service doesn't have Lucas - so they meet it at the hospital doors with Lucas to offload and walk to the ecmo area

8 年Why transport in the first place? Treat on scene. If transport mandated then only mechanical CPR can be acceptable surely?

8 年Thanks to all involved - we will present this at major conferences next few weeks - let's try and ban non thinking CPR craziness if it exists within healthcare professionals

8 年The reality of that situation is this, if an ALS unit does not regain a pulse on scene, you're not likely to get that patient back. The victim is not the only patient on scene. Sometimes things are done in an effort to help the family deal with the situation at hand.
