Today I am pretty excited. I'm excited because today was one of the many days that I completed the first part of a systems training. I want to share the jewels I learned as I prepared for this training.
Jewel #1: Observe: Take the time to observe, watch how others use and explain the nuances within the system. Sit in classes and listen to the questions that are being asked, listen to the explanations. Observe the replays and listen to different trainers explain the system.
Jewel #2: Asked Clarifying Questions: It is a new system, ask questions about the system, ask about most frequent problems that people encounter within the system. If there is something you don't understand, ASK! This helps you become better prepared for when questions may arise.
Jewel #3: Teach-Backs: When you're asking team members for their time to provide feedback and insight. That's nothing to take lightly, make their time worth it. You are not their priority and they probably have 100 other fires burning. The insight and feedback they provide incorporate it within your trainings.
Jewel #4: Always Be In The Seat of a Student: Always take the time to learn, grow and develop. One thing that I have always committed to do is to remain teachable, remain trainable. Even coaches have coaches, trainers have trainers. Take the time to learn from the best in the business. Read. Learn. Train. Grow!
Jewel #5: Don't Go at it Alone- It's a Team Effort: Let me be clear, I wouldn't be making this post if I didn't have the amazing team that I have. They provided unwavering support, hours of teach backs, and encouragement throughout the journey. Days like this reminds me of the that famous quote "it takes a village" I am a representative of my village and today I must say today the village had a win .
Jewel #6: Breathe: Remember to breathe and pace yourself, many times I would forget to breathe and find myself out of breath. Now I find special places to pause take a breathe or drink water.
Jewel #7: Have Fun: Because lets be honest no one likes a boring Trainer!
