The new TED TV series on Peacock included many hours of #mocap by Seth MacFarlane. During filming they introduced a new tool called 'ViewScreen Studio' which gives more options to interact with digital actors during shooting.

2?? Motion Capture Market growing to $500 Million by 2030

This latest report says the motion capture market will grow from 183 million in 2022 to USD 472.89 million by 2030. This growth is driven by the demand for realistic animations and special effects in films and games, and motion capture in sports for performance analysis and training purposes.

3?? New Software Update to Sony’s mocopi

Sony recently released a software update to their “mocopi” motion capture system for consumers. It gives new options to connect it to VRChat and it adds a new setup focusing more on just the upper body.

4?? Avatar VFX Artists Vote to Unionize

The VFX workers voted to unionize with an overwhelming 75% support. With this unionization, they join in-house VFX staffers at Marvel and Walt Disney Pictures, and DNEG workers in Canada.
