Let’s Talk – Let’s Make a Change

Let’s Talk – Let’s Make a Change

Each year in January, we take a moment out of the month to celebrate and acknowledge?Bell Let’s Talk Day: a day dedicated to breaking down barriers and driving conversation around mental health.?

The theme of this year’s Let’s Talk Day is Let’s Change This – and with that in mind, we wanted to take the opportunity to create some positive change of our own. We’re breaking from our regular posting cadence today in order to dedicate this space to resources that can help drive conversations around mental illness, encourage mental wellness, and let anyone wrestling with their own mental health know that they are not alone.?

Let’s change the fact that every year,?1 in 5 Canadians?will have experienced a mental health problem or illness on a personal level.

Let’s change the fact that by the age of forty,?~50% of our population?will have or has had a run-in with mental illness.

And perhaps most importantly of all, let’s change the fact that of those struggling with mental illness,?more than 1 out of every 2 individuals?aren’t getting the help they need.?

Thank you for taking the time today to visit our blog and help further the conversation around mental health. Change is often hard-won and these sorts of conversations are never simple ones to have –?but by taking the time to push for better, have these conversations, and simply taking a moment to talk, we can make a difference.?
